The 2010 IPWEAvic Annual Dinner was held on 14th October 2010 at Darebin Arts Centre.  Those that attended heard a presentation from Andrew McInness giving views on IT in procurement.  A great ending to the Procurement Excellence Conference held earlier during the day.  Here are some photos of the event

    

  

The joint FinPro and IPWEAvic Procurement Excellence Conference was held on 14th October 2010 at Darebin Arts Centre.  Attended by some 86 delegates who listened to advice from the Auditor General’s Department,  Municipal Inspectors Office, Local Government Victoria, Probity Advisors, learnt from case studies, and contemplated social procurement guidelines and sustainabiltiy in procurement.

Engineers Australia, Civil Branch, is hosting a Free Seminar on Tuesday 29th June 2010 at 6pm at AECOM offices. 

The seminar entitled “The Secrect Art of Design Office Management” will provide speakers from four organisations to present their different perspectives on 
managing a design office, followed by a facilitated discussion.    Speakers include David Richardson from City of Casey.

The Chairman and Trustees of the Municipal Engineering Foundation Victoria extend an invitation to all members of IPWEA Vic to attend an Awards Recognition Luncheon to be held at the Green Acres Golf Club, 51 Elm Grove, East Kew, 3102, from 12:00pm to 2:30pm on Friday 9th July 2010.  The luncheon hosted by the MEF (Vic) will provide a networking opportunity and acknowledge those members who have been granted Scholarship awards by the Foundation in 2010.

    The IPWEAvic Event Calendar for 2010 is now available. 

    The Board has designed events throughout 2010 to promote professional development and networking for public works practitioners. The events encompass conferences, seminars, technical tours, training programs, technical presentations providing opportunities for upgrading of technical skills, furthering knowledge on topical issues, and networking with industry peers.

    IPWEAvic is supporting the 2010 Civil Works Expo to be held at Lardner Park, Warragul on 19, 20 & 21st February 2010. Three weeks to go until the event – read update here.

    On 19 February 2010 a Civil Works Luncheon will be held at Lardner Park between 12:30pm and 2pm and IPWEAvic Members are welcome to attend at a cost of $60 per person – registration details here.

    Also on 19 February 2010 at Lardner Park, Pre- Function Centre the IPWEAvic Gippsland Regional Group will meet between 11am and 12:30pm.

    A panel of experts from VicTrack will be available to answer any questions you may have regarding public works on railway land. 

    General Manager Asset Management VicTrack, Geoff Walker will present to the meeting.  Peter Mills will be available to advise on cost estimation of works within railway land.  Robyn Evans will attend the meeting as the Local Government Co-ordinator for VicTrack.  A VicRoads representative will also be in attendance to advise on conflicts in the Road Management Act and Rail Safety Acts.
